The Athens city coastline, extending from the major commercial port of Piraeus to Cape Counion, host a number of sandy beaches, most of which require an entrance fee, not excessive in most cases. All those beaches are accessible by car and public transportation as well. You can have lunch in a seaside taverna or take the ferry to the nearby islands. You can even take the tram and go to the southern suburbs to have a walk along the seacoast, relax with a cup of coffee or have a drink in one of the numerous cafes on the beach. You can even swim if the weather is nice.
There are plenty of options and we are happy to share them with you.
